Home Energy Upgrades: The WISE Home Energy Program

The WISE Home Energy Program is the one-stop-shop to help homeowners stop burning money on home energy costs and have a more comfortable and healthy home, regardless of income. This program is currently available to residents in Madison, Morgan, Limestone, Lawrence and Cullman counties.

This program provides homeowners an opportunity to receive an energy assessment to identify which home upgrades would be most effective in reducing energy costs. Homeowners that implement efficiency measures that produce an energy savings of 20 percent or more qualify for rebates of $350 for the initial energy assessment and up to $400 in additional rebates. That’s a total of up to $750 in rebates! Also, the efficiency upgrades may qualify homeowners for additional Federal tax credits.

This program also provides opportunities for auditors, contractors, realtors, and appraisers to become involved and receive specialized training in residential energy efficiency.
